What is Guru Dakshina, and how does it work here?

Guru Dakshina is an ancient, sacred tradition. Instead of commercial, upfront fees, students make a self-determined offering (Dakshina) that honors the knowledge received and supports the teacher’s livelihood. We do not turn away earnest seekers due to financial constraints.

I have zero prior knowledge of Sanskrit. Can I join?

Absolutely. We start from the very basics—the shapes of letters, the sound frequencies, and phonetic structures. Our curriculum is designed to build confidence step-by-step.

Are classes live, or are they recorded videos?

All classes are 100% live and interactive over video conference. Sanskrit, especially chanting, requires real-time feedback, correction of tongue positions, and direct human connection.

What is the schedule and time commitment?

Most courses run 1 to 2 sessions per week, with each session lasting 60 minutes. We support slots for multiple global timezones, including India (IST), North America (EST/PST), and Europe (CET).

Do you offer certificates upon completion?

While our primary goal is transformation and genuine knowledge transmission rather than paper credentials, we can provide institutional certificates verifying your hours of traditional shastra study.

Can children learn Sanskrit online?

Yes. The Samskrita Foundation Program teaches children aged 8 to 14 in a small live online group, Monday and Friday, 6 to 7 PM IST. Children also learn shlokas and correct pronunciation in one-to-one classes.

Do you teach Bhagavad Gita classes online?

Yes. Bhagavad Gita classes are live and one to one: correct chanting, memorising chapters such as 12 and 15, word-by-word meaning, the teachings of karma, bhakti and jnana yoga, and applying the Gita in daily life. Advanced students study the Gita Bhashya of Adi Shankaracharya.

Can I learn Vedic chanting online, such as Sri Suktam and Rudram?

Yes. Krishna Yajurveda chanting is taught live, one to one, with correction of every svara. Students progress from the Shanti Mantras and Ganapati Suktam to Sri Suktam, Purusha Suktam, Sri Rudram, Chamakam and the Upanishad vallis.

Do you teach Sanskrit grammar such as Laghu Siddhanta Kaumudi?

Yes. Sanskrit grammar (Vyakarana) is the backbone of the course: sandhi, samasa, karaka and the vibhaktis, leading to the study of Laghu Siddhanta Kaumudi, the traditional Paninian grammar text.

I live in the USA, UK, Australia or UAE. Can I join?

Yes. Classes are online and scheduled across time zones, so students in the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and the Gulf learn live with the Acharya from home.

Is there an online Advaita Vedanta course?

Yes. Advaita Vedanta is taught online from the introductory prakarana granthas to Vedanta Paribhasha and the Prasthanatraya with Shankara Bhashya, in the traditional Gurukula way.
